Parent Teacher Organization
The PTO is a non-profit organization made up of the parents, teachers, community members, and administrators of Briar Vista Elementary School.
What does the PTO do?
We are focused on building a school community that encourages all students and teachers to do their best. We build a culture of communication and respect through family events, teacher appreciation, keeping parents informed, school beautification, community awareness and fundraising.
Ready to Join?
Guess what…you’re already a member! There are no membership dues; everyone is automatically a part of the Briar Vista PTO. Helping the PTO is a great way to stay involved with your child and become informed. The best part about it is that it is so easy to help. Simply attend one of our meetings or contact any of our board members to see how you can make a difference. We can’t wait to meet you.
Principal Advisory Council
The purpose of the Principal Advisory Council is to bring parents, school employees, students and community members together to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other’s perspectives and share ideas for increasing student achievement and performance.
The members of the Principal Advisory Council are accountable to the constituents they serve and shall:
The Principal Advisory Council operates under the control and management of the DeKalb County School District and will follow Board of Education policies and procedures. The Principal Advisory Council provides advice and recommendations to the school principal, the local board of education and local school superintendent on matters related to school climate/culture, student achievement, and community partnerships.
The Briar Vista PTO is run entirely by volunteers. Without your help we cannot succeed in making our school community grow. Many of our volunteer opportunities are easy and do not require more than a few hours. Please consider helping us make Briar Vista the best elementary school it can be.
